Aviation Industry Looking to Change Safety Standards, Tracking Technology
Underwater tracking devices were put to use more frequently than usual in 2014, looking for downed airplanes in the sea. Two of the aircraft are still missing — Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 and, more recently, AirAsia Flight 8501. Industry leaders are looking to improve safety worldwide — with better, more dependable devices to track planes. VOA’s Carolyn Presutti reports.
