By the way, in conversations that Anna has the Washington D.C. is mentioned often. Even today :Anna's best friend from her hometown arrives in W.D.C. . We wonder how many "Washington D.Cs." are in the USA or anywhere else. Why? Because, let's say for example , the USA has more than two dozens places called "Moscow"(please see today's Lenta.ru) and while talking or writing about or planning a visit to Moscow someone might get confused. In the USA many places in different towns and cities named with (or"after"?) a name ("named with a name"- ???)of G.Washington. But ,again, what about the "W.D.C."? Maybe because Anna's friend also didn't know about any(!) other(!) W.D.C., Anna's friend arrived in/to the "rightone", and friends are meeting (ing) with a good reason of having(ing) good time--hometown is one of the major reason. Thanks.

      Dear M. Yul,
There is only one Washington D.C. because there is only one DC, which stands for "District of Columbia" and is the name of the federal district where our national government is located.
There are many other cities named "Washington" in other states. And there is a state named "Washington."
      Best wishes,
      Dr. Jill
