Garner, a father of six, was detained by New York police on July 17 that year for allegedly illegally selling cigarettes in Staten Island.

Rescuers carry out a survivor from the site of a building that collapsed in Mumbai, India. The four-story apartment building collapsed in a crowded neighborhood. Several people were feared to be trapped, an official said.
